Full Job Description
The Head of International Qualifications provides strategic leadership in the promotion and sales of our OxfordAQA international qualifications, playing a pivotal role in developing business, motivating the sales teams, and driving the success of the organization's business plan. It involves close collaboration with the Head of Direct School Sales to shape and execute the sales strategy for the Oxford International Programme, while also working with key stakeholders to develop and implement a robust school group strategy. Acting as the voice of our customers, learners, and broader stakeholder community, the role delivers critical insights into their needs and contexts, tracks progress and performance against our targets, ensuring that our business strategy remains deeply customer-centric and responsive to the evolving educational landscape., Strategy and planning:
- Collaborate within OxfordAQA, AQA and OUP alongside the International Sales Director, to develop the sales strategy and plan, to grow the business sustainably, meeting business plan targets set out in the growth strategy.
- Take accountability (In collaboration International Sales Director and OxfordAQA SLT) for designing and assuring robust commercial planning which enables targets and objectives to be met in ways that increase our reach and deliver our aspirations for growth.
- Together with Managing Director of OxfordAQA and the International Sales Director, agree, deliver and regularly review an annual business development plan for OxfordAQA
- Create and implement a strategic resourcing plan across Sales including using our global locations to resource efficiently, flexibly and effectively.
- Work with Head of Direct School sales to develop a whole package approach to selling OIP, retaining customers and lead management processes
- Work with key stakeholders on a concise school group offering Data and monitoring:
- Develop and implement a set of KPIs that confidently monitor top- and bottom-line outcomes and support the successful delivery of our sales strategy, growth ambitions, revenue forecasts. KPIs should include but are not limited to, revenue, contribution, exam entries, new business development, retention and culture. All built on a robust data set that is actively updated by the team to ensure accurate forecasting and identification of opportunities and risks
- With realistic cadence monitor performance against plans in qualitative and quantitative terms with regards to both leading and lagging indicators, flagging risks to achievement of our growth ambitions, coordinating a joint approach to mitigation, identifying what works well and spreading good practice.
- Utilise data and insights to monitor performance and provide evidence for data led decision-making.
- Ensure a strong pipeline of sales activity is maintained and regularly reported at SLT and board level.
- Lead the OAQA sales teams in maintaining comprehensive and accurate information about our customers in CRM systems. Sales Activity:
- Develop an effective framework for key account management that builds strong relationships with key customers and school groups.
- Building market-leading customer relationship and business development strategies with key international education decision-makers and influencers.
- Work with the Customer Success team and other internal stakeholders to develop market leading customer support for OxfordAQA, including qualifications, learning resources, and professional development.
- Input into pricing and business models to help maximise value and model through the business plan to evaluate impact.
- Work with Product and Marketing to help define propositions and communications that will create maximum value for customers and learners.
- Work with the Head of Marketing to ensure marketing activity is effectively driving engagement and populating sales pipeline, and is tailored to the portfolio and target markets.
- Through team interactions, build a strong picture of customer, market and competitor insight that feeds into marketing and product planning, and can act as a lever for growth. Leadership:
- Champion a programme of continuous improvement in the Sales teams so they become recognised and valued and fulfil their potential.
- Embed an effective 70/20/10 professional development approach for our Sales teams that develops the right skills and capabilities to achieve our corporate goals.
- Develop a customer focussed and high-performance culture, seeking not only to capture value for OxfordAQA and Oxford Education, but also to create value for our customers and learners in the process.
