Head of Inclusion - Assistant Headteacher Are you passionate about inclusion, ambitious for every child and ready to make a real difference? We are excited to offer an exceptional opportunity for an Head of Inclusion to join our Senior Leadership Team at Roberts Primary School. This is a non-class-based leadership role in the first instance, providing the opportunity to work strategically across the school to ensure that every child is supported, included and able to thrive. Following our recently positive Ofsted inspection, where leadership was recognised as strong, we are looking for an inspirational and proactive leader who is passionate about teaching and learning, is a strong advocate for children and is committed to securing the very best outcomes for every pupil. You will work closely with our Senior Leadership Team and have your own team which includes a dedicated SEND intervention teacher, who is also a qualified SENDCO. The SEND intervention teacher leads on areas including EHCP assessments, interventions and annual reviews. This collaborative approach provides an exciting opportunity to develop and strengthen our inclusive practice while maintaining a clear focus on high-quality teaching and learning. You will also form part of a wider team including an experienced pastoral lead and learning mentor. Roberts is a welcoming and ambitious school with a supportive staff team, delightful children and extensive grounds and facilities, including our purpose-built four-acre Forest School. We are committed to providing rich experiences for our pupils and creating an environment in which every child can feel that they belong, achieve and thrive. There is also an exciting opportunity for the successful candidate to play a key role in the development of an on-site specialist provision/resource base, as part of a wider project being developed in partnership with the local authority. This is an opportunity to help shape something from the ground up and have a lasting impact on provision for children and families within our community. We are looking for someone who is proactive, compassionate, solution-focused and ambitious; someone who will champion children, support colleagues and work collaboratively to remove barriers to learning.
We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of the children; therefore, the post is subject to medical clearance and an enhanced DBS check under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974. All applicants must be able to provide documentation to prove their right to work in the UK. Effective from September 2022, KCSIE states as part of the shortlisting process schools and colleges should consider carrying out on-line searches, as part of the due diligence on shortlisted candidates. This is to determine suitability to work with children and keep them safe. All shortlisted candidates are now subject to an on-line check and if there is anything concerning, then the shortlisted candidate will be asked to comment on it either prior to or at interview.
