Full Job Description
As Head of History, you will:
- Lead and develop the History curriculum across Key Stages 3 to 5.
- Drive high standards of teaching, learning and student achievement.
- Line manage, support and develop colleagues within the department.
- Use data effectively to monitor progress and improve outcomes.
- Contribute to whole-school improvement and the wider life of the school.
- Champion a culture of ambition, inclusion and academic excellence.
Holds Qualified Teacher Status and a relevant degree. - Has a strong track record of successful History teaching.
- Demonstrates excellent curriculum knowledge and leadership potential.
- Can inspire both students and colleagues to achieve their very best.
- Is committed to continuous improvement and professional development.

The History department is a well-established and highly successful area of the curriculum, supported by a dedicated team of four colleagues with a range of specialisms and experience. As Head of History, you will have the opportunity to build on this success, driving excellence in teaching and learning, shaping curriculum innovation and securing outstanding outcomes for all students.
