Are you a strategic leader with a passion for financial excellence and public service? We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Head of Financial Assessment and Client Affairs to lead a high-performing service responsible for managing over £83 million in Adult Social Care (ASC) income annually and for Client Financial Affairs protecting the financial and property interests of those who are unable to do this for themselves., This role sits within the Adults, Wellbeing and Health Partnerships Directorate, a collaborative and forward-thinking team committed to delivering high-quality services that support the financial wellbeing of Surrey's adult social care clients. The team plays a key role in ensuring financial processes and decisions underpin the effective and sustainable delivery of adult social care across the county. You will work closely with professionals across finance, commissioning and service delivery, in an environment that values innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement to drive better outcomes for residents. About the Role As Head of Financial Assessment and Client Affairs, you will lead the service responsible for financial assessments, client financial affairs, and the collection and recovery of ASC income. This includes ensuring best practice and compliance, developing robust policies and strategies, and delivering measurable improvements in financial operations. Central aspects of the role are to maximise income collection while reducing outstanding debt and responsibility for protecting the financial and property interests of those who are unable to do this for themselves. You will also play a pivotal role in supporting the service's ongoing transformation programme alongside day-to-day operations, championing strategic change while maintaining service excellence. We are looking for someone with in-depth knowledge of Adult Social Care financial assessments and debt recovery, along with a proven ability to lead at a senior level in a complex and high-demand environment. You'll be an effective communicator and collaborator, with a strategic mindset and the drive to deliver high standards of performance and accountability.

  • Substantial leadership experience in a relevant financial or public service setting
  • Specialist knowledge of financial assessments and debt recovery within Adult Social Care
  • Proven ability to develop and implement effective strategies and policies
  • A track record of improving service delivery, managing risk, and achieving results
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills at all levels

    This permanent role has a starting salary of £79,260 per annum, based on a 36 hour working week., 26 days' holiday, rising to 28 days after 2 years' service and 30 days after 5 years' service
