Head of Finance - IT / Digital Business Transformation

Are you ready to play a key role in delivering large-scale business change? We are seeking a Head of Finance - Business Transformation to join our Finance team at Boots in Nottingham. This is a high-impact role at the heart of strategic transformation programmes, providing financial leadership, governance, and insight to ensure successful delivery of change initiatives across the business., As the Head of Finance - Business Transformation, you will act as the lead finance partner to the Programme Director and transformation leadership team, ensuring fit-for-purpose governance that enables delivery, transparency, and value realisation across all programmes. Your role will involve:

• Acting as the strategic finance partner to Programme Directors and transformation teams, shaping the financial direction of key initiatives.
• Designing and embedding proportionate financial governance frameworks that balance control with speed, ensuring investments are aligned to maximising business value.
• Leading consolidated programme financial reporting, delivering clear, forward-looking insight to executive and board-level stakeholders.
• Providing constructive challenge and enablement to programme teams on budgets, forecasts, risks, and benefits, encouraging informed decisions.
• Ensuring disciplined investment appraisal and ongoing value tracking, with a clear focus on ROI, benefits realisation, and strategic outcomes across transformation initiatives.
• Leading and developing a high-performing finance team that is comfortable operating in ambiguity, challenging the status quo and enabling change
  
  Qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA or equivalent).
• Significant experience in senior finance roles, ideally within transformation, change, or programme environments.
• Proven ability to partner at executive level, influencing Programme Directors and senior stakeholders.
• Strong experience in financial governance, investment control, and large-scale programme reporting.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate financial insight into clear, commercially focused guidance for non-finance leaders and executives.
It would be great if you also have
• Experience supporting major transformation programmes (e.g., ERP, digital, operating model change).
• Familiarity with programme governance frameworks and portfolio management approaches.
• Strong understanding of benefits tracking, value realisation, and investment appraisal techniques.
