Head of Finance (Divisional Finance Director)

Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, you'll act as a trusted finance partner to a senior executive and their leadership team- working side-by-side to drive performance, shape strategy and deliver better outcomes for the business. You'll:

• Partner closely with senior executives and their SMT, providing insight, challenge and support on key decisions
• Lead financial planning, forecasting and performance insight for a large, complex area of the business
• Translate complex financial information into clear, actionable insight for non-financial leaders
• Influence investment decisions, priorities and trade-offs at senior leadership level
• Provide visibility and narrative into performance for the CFO, Executive Committee and Board
• Build and lead a high-performing finance team
This is a role with real presence- you'll spend the majority of your time working directly with senior stakeholders, helping them navigate complexity and deliver results.


• Experience working closely with an Executive, CEO or equivalent senior leader
• A track record of influencing and challenging at ExCo or Board level
• Experience in a large, complex organisation where stakeholder management is critical
• The ability to operate with confidence, credibility and pace in a highly visible role
• Strong communication skills - able to simplify complexity and land messages clearly
Not essential:
• Experience in utilities or asset-heavy industries
• Direct capital programme experience
