Head of Estates Services

Experteer Overview As Head of Estate Services you lead the Trust's maintenance, engineering and grounds operations to ensure safe, compliant and cost-effective estate delivery. You will steer strategic influence with hands-on operational delivery, coordinating across Capital, Facilities, Technical Services and Health & Safety. You shape the future of the estate while managing today's maintenance, risk, and compliance pressures. You will develop people, drive continuous improvement and support sustainability and Net Zero ambitions. Pay / Benefits

• Lead operational delivery of Estates services including planned and reactive maintenance, minor works, backlog maintenance, grounds care and on-call arrangements Provide specialist advice on estates maintenance, building services, engineering infrastructure, compliance, resilience and risk Oversee audits, risk assessments and the estates maintenance risk register; implement risk controls and escalation Maintain Authorised Person and Responsible Person arrangements with external Authorising Engineers; monitor audit actions Support business continuity and coordinated responses to incidents and emergencies Set service quality expectations; monitor KPIs and drive continuous improvement through reliable data Lead and develop the estates maintenance and grounds workforce, with recruitment, supervision, appraisal and competency frameworks Build workforce resilience and meaningful succession planning for future estates professionals Manage budgets and contribute to cost improvement plans; ensure safe and transparent use of resources Contribute to Estates Strategy and long-term planning; support sustainability and capital project handover Maintain operational and maintenance records including electrical systems, water quality, asbestos and BMS Collaborate across Capital, Facilities, Technical Services, Health & Safety, clinical services and corporate teams Deputise for the Associate Director of Estates and Development when required Foster open, respectful, inclusive leadership and effective communication; escalate significant risks promptly Support safe transition of capital projects into operation Engage with service users, contractors and stakeholders to address feedback and complaints Tasks Degree in Building Services, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or substantial equivalent experience Knowledge and experience of complex mechanical and electrical (M&E) systems Leadership and management experience including people management Desirable: knowledge of NHS HTMs and Health Technical Memorandums Key requirements training and education opportunities apprenticeships work experience and placements research opportunities 健康与福利关注等福利 salary within Band 8b range (66,582 to 77,368)
