Head of Environmental Operations

We have an exciting opportunity for a Head of Environmental Operations to join the Norwich City Service Limited (NCSL) team. NCSL delivers services across Norwich and the surrounding areas in grounds maintenance, tractor contracting, fine turf management, cemetery operations, arboriculture, streets cleansing, waste, technical cleansing, specialist cleaning, and pest control. In this role as Head of Environmental Operations, you will lead with a safety-first culture, embedding Lean principles and driving operational excellence, while developing and managing environmental services to deliver a safe, high-quality, efficient, and customer-focused service, ultimately ensuring a safe and well-maintained environment for the communities we serve.

Leading and embedding a safety-first culture, you will be responsible for strategic planning, operational performance, compliance, budget control, and continuous improvement across environmental services. You will have proven senior management experience in a similar service, along with strong knowledge of environmental operations and regulatory frameworks. With excellent leadership and people management skills, you will have a track record of driving service improvements and innovation. Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills along with a comprehensive understanding of compliance and health & safety in environmental operations is also an essential requirement.
