Head of English

As such, we are seeking a leader with an ambitious vision for English, who is keen to build on our current provision and develop an enhanced offer for our students. This will be an offer underpinned by high expectations, enabling students to explore texts and writing in new and engaging ways, while prioritising oracy and encouraging young people to articulate their ideas and opinions with clarity and confidence. This work will enable all of our students to achieve and succeed. You will lead a team of passionate professionals, working collaboratively to ensure every student has the best possible learning experience. You will reflect, adapt and develop new approaches to teaching and learning, and offer further enrichment opportunities to give students a wider range of experiences. Through clear communication and mentoring, you will ensure all approaches support and sustain both the vision within the English Department and in the wider school community. As a key member of our Middle Leadership Team, you will play a central role in driving our strategic vision and priorities. You will support and challenge staff to secure the very best outcomes for pupils, while helping to build a culture rooted in aspiration, inclusion and high standards.
