Head of Engineering and Technical Projects

We're looking for an experienced and forward-thinking engineering leader to head up our technical projects and engineering strategy across our hospital sites. This is a key role where you'll shape long-term engineering plans, ensure safe and efficient environments, and lead the delivery of major infrastructure and refurbishment projects. This is a remote role with nationwide travel when required. What you'll be doing As our Head of Engineering and Technical Projects, you will be:

• Leading multi-year engineering, asset and decarbonisation strategies.
• Managing major capital and engineering projects from scope to delivery.
• Overseeing engineering operations including PPM, statutory compliance and reactive works.
• Providing technical expertise on HVAC, medical gases, electrical systems and water hygiene.
• Working closely with hospital leaders, engineers and contractors to ensure high-quality, safe and compliant project delivery.
• Driving continuous improvement, innovation and best practice across the estate.
  
  With your strong engineering background within the NHS, healthcare or highly regulated environments, you will also have:
• Proven experience delivering large-scale capital or engineering projects.
• Deep technical knowledge of hospital systems and statutory compliance (HTMs, CDM, H&S).
• A confident leader with excellent communication, planning and stakeholder-management skills.
• Relevant qualifications (HNC/HND/Degree), AP status and safety/project certifications (e.g., PRINCE2, NEBOSH/IOSH).
