What you'll bring to the team:Qualifications & Experience:Are you ready to lead engineering excellence at one of the UK's most exciting destinations?We're on the lookout for an inspiring and driven Head of Engineering to take the helm of our Technical Services department. This is a rare opportunity to lead a talented team of engineers and technicians at a top-tier UK theme park, ensuring the safety, reliability, and thrill of our rides and attractions.What You'll Be Doing
- Translate strategic goals into effective departmental plans to ensure seamless operational delivery.
- Lead the department through peak seasons, planned maintenance, and strategic upgrades.
- Champion our core values while nurturing a high-performing team culture.
- Drive health & safety compliance to world-class standards, promoting a proactive safety mindset.
- Oversee budgets, resource planning, procurement, and technical project delivery.
- Implement and optimise digital maintenance systems and reporting processes.
- Engage with external stakeholders including regulators, suppliers and contractors.
Accredited Level 3 qualification (NVQ or equivalent) in Engineering or completion of a licensed apprenticeship. - Proven experience in engineering leadership, ideally in the amusement or theme park sector.
- Strong understanding of mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical systems.
- Solid grasp of H&S regulations and preventative maintenance systems.
- Effective communicator with excellent team leadership and people development skills.
- Proficient in MS Office, digital maintenance systems, and data reporting. Desirable:
- HNC/HND or degree in an engineering discipline.
- IOSH Managing Safely and/or professional registration (IEng).
- Experience with amusement ride standards (e.g., HSG175) and leisure industry associations (e.g., BALPPA, IAAPA).
- Leadership through change and delivering large-scale engineering projects.
