  • Strategic Leadership: Provide strategic leadership in education quality, driving school improvement and inclusive practice.
  • SEND & Inclusion Strategy: Lead and embed the SEND and inclusion strategy in line with statutory frameworks, including the SEND Code of Practice.
  • Educational Improvement: Champion improvement across maintained schools and academies to ensure all learners thrive.
  • Vulnerable Learners: Oversee initiatives supporting vulnerable cohorts, including children in care and pupils with special educational needs and disabilities.
  • Partnership Working: Build strong partnerships with schools, Ofsted, health services, and multi-agency stakeholders to enhance outcomes.
  • Resources & Performance: Manage complex budgets, resources, and performance metrics across diverse service areas.
  • People Leadership: Lead, develop, and inspire multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality services.
  • Safeguarding: Embed effective safeguarding practice across all education services.
  • Representation: Represent Devon at regional and national education forums to strengthen the county's educational profile.
