Full Job Description
You will be expected to lead on the strategic and operational delivery of high-quality Facilities services including:
- Delivery of helpdesk services
- Building Receptions and facilities team support
- Cleaning
- Porterage
- Mail room services
- Transport and fleet operations
- Coordination of maintenance and project coordination
- Out of hours support services
- Waste management Duties
- Lead Campus Operations staff ensuring they all are working collectively in delivering effective, efficient and cohesive support to the Faculties, Schools and professional services departments
- Plan resources ensuring work schedules are maintained and resource requirements are planned and implemented.
- Manage the performance of the Campus Operations Teams, ensuring all sites are managed and maintained in an efficient and effective manner in accordance with the Space Management Policy, Service Standards and Key Performance Indicators.
- Ensure effective delivery of People and Organisational Development processes with respect to recruitment, absence management, performance management, training and development in collaboration with the HR Business Partner.
- Promote and drive change. Engender a positive customer focused culture within the work environment.
- Deliver the continuous review of service provision and quality control, implementing action plans to address implementation/performance gaps from quality review processes.
- Manage the development of the front-facing campus services through the Facilities Managers and local support teams.
- Manage operational, financial and Health, Safety and Environment risks associated with service delivery. Ensure compliance with legislation and University Codes of Practice.
- Develop and implement plans to ensure efficiencies and savings in campus operations as required by the Department and University strategy. These plans to be in accordance with Financial Regulations and Procedures.
- Ensure that all Campus Operations budgets and resources are managed in accordance with University policies and procedures.
- Ensure coordination between Campus Services and Estate Development activities. Minimising disruption to building occupants and the student experience.
- Ensure effective stakeholder relationship management through partnership working, communication and advocacy through Facilities Managers, senior stakeholders and customers.
- Develop and manage effective Business Continuity Plans for the provision of the Campus services. To ensure an effective response to incidents, and the completion and implementation of outcomes from lessons learned reviews.
- Work closely with the Head of Campus Support (Security) regarding security patrols, incidents, sharing of intelligence and the planning for University events.
- Maintain resource plans. Contributing to annual budgeting and other planning processes.
- Represent the Estate Development and Campus Services department at senior management meetings, internal and external forums and events.
- Produce reports to fulfil Departmental and University governance requirements.
- Ensure systems are developed and maintained to support the delivery and development of the Campus Services. Carry out any other duties commensurate with the seniority of this post, as requested by the Director of Campus Services.
- In association with colleagues, monitor and progress the training and development needs of the department, including performance management and appraisals.
- Manage, coach and develop an effective and motivated team promoting the highest standards of customer care to achieve departmental and LJMU objectives.
- Work alongside senior staff and other colleagues to ensure engagement with cross-functional teams in order to maximise efficiency and customer service.
- Produce and maintain oversight of an effective Local Contingency/Emergency Response Plan in line with University requirements.
- Any other duties commensurate with the grade as deemed necessary by the Director of Campus Services Values and Regulations

- Experienced in successfully leading and implementing A, I, P programmes of change; developing staff, culture and systems to support change

- Experience in the development and delivery of service levels and A, I KPIs within an FM environment Experience in business continuity planning Expertise :
