Full Job Description

We are seeking a Head of Building Safety to ensure Anchor's compliance with the Building Safety Act 2022 and Building Safety Regulator (BSR) requirements. Reporting to the Director of Resident & Building Safety, you will act as an Accountable Person or Building Safety Manager, manage safety cases, and embed a compliance-first and customer-first culture. This role involves technical leadership, resident engagement, and collaboration with contractors and regulators to safeguard residents and maintain high-risk buildings (HRBs).,

  • Act as Anchor's Building Safety SME, overseeing compliance for high-rise and higher-risk buildings (HRBs).
  • Prepare and maintain Building Safety Cases and Safety Case Reports, ensuring robust Golden Thread information management.
  • Procure and manage building safety services, including inspections, cladding remediation, and fire engineering reports.
  • Lead resident engagement strategies, ensuring clear communication and transparency in building safety decisions.
  • Investigate building safety incidents and liaise with the BSR, Fire and Rescue Service, and HSE.
  • Manage building safety budgets and monitor KPIs, compliance rates, and customer satisfaction.
  • Lead a high-performing team, fostering a culture of performance excellence and accountability.

    You are a proven leader with expertise in building safety and regulatory compliance. You bring:
  • Deep knowledge of the Building Safety Act 2022, BSR requirements, and Golden Thread principles.
  • Proven leadership in managing higher-risk buildings (HRBs) and safety cases, with experience in incident management and regulatory liaison.
  • Strong leadership, resident engagement, and risk management skills, with the ability to conduct site inspections.
  • A relevant qualification in Building Safety, Construction, or Surveying (e.g., RICS, CIOB) or substantial experience with a commitment to achieve qualifications.
  • A Housing Management Qualification (CIH Level 4 or above) or willingness to work towards it, and a full, clean UK driving licence.
