Full Job Description
The Dean Close School is looking to appoint an inspiring and ambitious Head of Biology to lead a thriving and successful department from starting in Jan 2027, on a full time basis. This is an exciting opportunity to shape the future of Biology at Dean Close at a time of strong pupil uptake, excellent academic outcomes, and with significant Science facilities upgrades planned over the next two years.The Head of Biology will provide academic leadership to a well-established department teaching Years 913, delivering GCSE and A Level Biology to highly engaged pupils. Biology is the most popular GCSE science at the School, with strong and sustained A Level numbers.You will be responsible for the strategic direction, teaching and learning, and day-to-day management of the department, while also teaching a full timetable and contributing fully to the wider life of a busy day and boarding school.The successful candidates shortlisted for interview, would need to be available for interview
