We're looking for an Assistant Head of Engagement & Estate Strategy to help us transform and optimise the Metropolitan Police estate-so it works smarter, performs better and supports modern policing across London.

Location: Hendon or SidcupContract: 12 monthsPayrate: £760 per day UmbrellaVetting clearance: CTC/NPPV2 - must be living in the UK for the most recent 5 year to pass the vetting.
What's the opportunity?This isn't just about managing buildings-it's about shaping the future of how the Met operates.Working closely with the Head of Engagement and Estate Strategy, you'll help lead the way in delivering the MOPAC/Met Estate Strategy, making sure the right spaces are in the right places, for the right reasons.
You'll be the bridge between strategy and reality-connecting operational teams with practical, forward-thinking estate solutions.
What you'll be doing (aka where you'll shine)Leading people & building relationshipsLead and develop a team of Engagement Managers who work directly with policing teamsBuild strong, trusted relationships across the Met and beyondTurning strategy into actionHelp shape and deliver the MOPAC/MPS Estate StrategyChampion the strategy-bringing it to life across the organisationAlign estate planning with operational and transformation prioritiesWorking with influence at every levelCollaborate with senior officers, board members, SROs and external partnersPartner with other blue-light organisations, boroughs and property stakeholdersSupport negotiations on complex property dealsDriving smarter decisionsSupport financial planning and modelling with finance partnersContribute to business cases and options appraisalsBalance demand, cost and operational need to create the best outcomesMaking things happenEnsure estate solutions are practical, affordable and future-focusedPromote modern workplace

What you'll bringYou're someone who thrives on big challenges, big conversations and big impact.Essential:Professional qualification (e.g. RICS) or equivalent experienceStrong leadership experience in estates/propertyA track record of delivering in complex organisationsExperience designing estate solutions that meet real user needsBrilliant communication and influencing skillsConfidence working with senior stakeholders in a fast-paced, sometimes political environmentBonus points if you have:Experience in the public sector or policing environmentKnowledge of governance, procurement and business casesExperience in demand management or business analysisInterest in modern workplace design and smarter working
