Head Kitchen Porter - Leo's columbia road - London

We are seeking a reliable, driven and hardworking Kitchen Assistant to join our dynamic team on a part time basis (Weekend only). As a Kitchen Assistant, you will play a crucial role in assisting in food preparation, maintaining high standards of health & safety and ensuring the kitchen operates smoothly. This role is ideal for someone with a passion for the restaurant and culinary industry as well as those that enjoy working in a fast paced environment striving to create high quality food in a takeaway market setting (located on the world famous Columbia Road during the weekly Flower Market). This is also a role where we would be open to developing your knowledge of the operations with a view to take on more responsibility as we grow. Responsibilities include

• Assist in meal preparation by chopping, slicing, and preparing ingredients for cooking.
• Support chef in the kitchen by maintaining cleanliness and organisation of workstations and overall kitchen environment.
• Ensure all food safety standards are adhered to, including proper storage and handling of ingredients.
• Clean kitchen equipment, utensils, and work areas to maintain a hygienic environment.
• Collaborate with team members to ensure timely service during busy periods.
• Participate in training sessions to enhance culinary skills and knowledge of food health & safety practices.
  
  Previous experience in a restaurant or catering environment is advantageous but not essential.
• A keen interest in culinary arts and willingness to learn from experienced cooks.
• Knowledge of food safety standards and practices is preferred.
• Ability to work efficiently in a team-oriented environment while managing multiple tasks.
• Strong communication skills and a positive attitude towards teamwork.

We are Leo's Columbia Road, a decadent new sandwich shop on Columbia Road. We operate weekends only.
