Head Chef - Suegars catering LTD - London

We are looking for an experienced, reliable and passionate Cook to join our catering team. We are looking for someone with a genuine understanding and appreciation of traditional British cuisine, who takes pride in preparing good, honest, well-cooked food. This role would suit a practical, hands-on cook who is confident in the kitchen and familiar with classic English dishes, traditional pub food and wholesome, home-style cooking. We are not looking for a fine-dining or overly complicated approach to food. Instead, we want someone who understands the importance of good ingredients, traditional cooking methods, consistency and delivering food to a high standard.,

• Preparing and cooking traditional dishes and everyday favourites.
• Preparing homemade meals, including roasts, pies, stews, casseroles, fish dishes, vegetables and traditional puddings.
• Preparing food in larger quantities while maintaining quality and consistency.
• Carrying out food preparation and ensuring the kitchen is organised and ready for service.
• Maintaining excellent food hygiene, cleanliness and food safety standards.
• Working alongside the catering team to ensure smooth and efficient kitchen operations.
• Managing preparation and cooking times to ensure food is ready for service.
• About the Venue
• We are an established catering operation based within a private members' club, providing food and dining services for members and their guests in a traditional, welcoming setting.
• Our catering varies from day to day, with smaller lunches and meals for around 10 people through to larger dining services and functions catering for up to 100 guests.
• We pride ourselves on providing good-quality, freshly prepared food, with an emphasis on traditional British cooking, generous portions and consistent standards. Our food offering is centred around classic English favourites, traditional home-style dishes and seasonal menus.
  
  Previous experience as a Cook or in a similar kitchen role.
• A strong knowledge of traditional English and British cuisine.
• Confidence preparing classic dishes from scratch.
• Someone practical, hardworking and organised with good kitchen skills.
• The ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
• Someone reliable who takes pride in their cooking and presentation.
• A positive attitude and a hands-on approach to kitchen work.
