We are looking for an enthusiastic, compassionate and motivated Healthcare Assistant (HCA) to join our friendly and supportive GP practice. This is an exciting opportunity to become part of a dedicated multidisciplinary team committed to providing high-quality patient care. The successful candidate will work under the direction of the Practice Nurses and GPs to deliver a range of clinical services, health promotion activities and patient care within a busy primary care environment.,

• The Healthcare Assistant will provide high-quality, patient-centred care, supporting the clinical team in delivering safe and effective services. Duties include undertaking NHS Health Checks, new patient health checks, recording observations (blood pressure, pulse, temperature, height, weight and BMI), performing ECGs, urinalysis, pregnancy testing, wound care, simple dressings, and the removal of sutures and clips where competent. The post holder will assist with chronic disease monitoring, diabetic foot checks, vaccinations (where appropriately trained), and chaperoning patients during examinations.
The role also includes preparing and maintaining clinical rooms, cleaning and calibrating equipment, processing pathology samples, managing clinical stock, and ensuring compliance with infection prevention and control procedures. The Healthcare Assistant will accurately maintain electronic patient records, promote healthy lifestyles, support recall programmes and clinical audits, maintain confidentiality, comply with practice policies and health and safety requirements, and work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team while always working within their scope of competence.

Previous experience working within a GP surgery or primary care setting is desirable, although applicants with relevant healthcare experience and a willingness to develop new skills are encouraged to apply.
