Full Job Description
Are you practical, friendly, pro-active, and love helping people feel safe and comfortable in their homes? We've got a brilliant opportunity for you to join our trades team as a Handyperson, helping us deliver essential maintenance and support across our Sheltered, Independent and Partnership Living schemes. Every day will bring something a little different, from general repairs to small adaptations that help our customers stay independent. You'll be one of the familiar faces of Abri, making sure our homes are well maintained, safe, and up to the high standards our customers deserve. You'll carry out a wide range of handy jobs across our properties including - hanging mirrors or shelves, fitting toilet seats, installing handrails, or giving our residents the everyday repairs they rely on. You'll also play an important role in supporting our Aids & Adaptations work, completing minor installations that make a big difference to customers' quality of life. Our customers are at the heart of what we do. That means we're looking for someone who takes pride in their work, brings a positive "can-do" attitude, and always delivers great customer service. You'll keep residents updated, work safely and efficiently, and be part of a supportive team who look out for one another. It's a varied, active role, so you'll need to be comfortable with manual work and confident using hand tools and basic equipment. You'll also have experience in domestic maintenance or housing repairs and a willingness to learn new skills as you go. You'll be using a tablet/PDA to keep track of your jobs, update records and help us stay organised, so being comfortable with simple digital systems will really help. A full driving licence is essential, as you'll be covering Horndean, Petersfield, Alton, and Southampton to support customers in their homes. We'll kit you out with your uniform, PPE, van, fuel card and the support you need to get stuck in. You'll just need to bring your own hand tools, a friendly attitude, and pride in doing a great job. You'll also have access to all of Abri's fantastic benefits from day one including 28 days holiday, a generous pension scheme, life assurance and our wellbeing package. If you want to be part of a hardworking team who take real pride in helping customers feel safe and supported in their homes, we'd love to hear from you. We'll be reviewing applications and interviewing as we go. If we receive enough applications, we may close the advert early, so make sure you apply today! Abri is a large housing provider who own and manage over 55,000 homes and various community assets, serving more than 120,000 customers across the South of England.
