Full Job Description
The Supply Register is delighted to be recruiting on behalf of Northumberland College for a Lecturer & Programme Lead in Hairdressing.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Hairdressing Lecturer or industry professional with a teaching qualification to join a supportive Further Education team, delivering high-quality teaching and supporting learners to achieve their full potential.
The role will be primarily based at the Ashington Campus, however regular travel to the Berwick Campus will be required. As Berwick is located in the north of Northumberland, applicants must be willing and able to travel between campuses and have access to reliable transport.
The position is due to start on 1st September and will initially run for a minimum of six weeks, with the potential to continue for up to three months, covering a phased return for a member of staff.
The Role
As a Lecturer & Programme Lead in Hairdressing, you will:
Deliver engaging practical and theoretical Hairdressing lessons
Support learners to develop industry-standard skills and knowledge
Plan, prepare and assess learning in line with awarding body requirements
Monitor learner progress and provide constructive feedback
Maintain a safe, inclusive and inspiring learning environment
Support the wider curriculum team to ensure excellent learner outcomes
Level 3 qualification (or above) in Hairdressing
Level 4 teaching qualification (or above) (essential)
Level 2 English and Maths (or equivalent)
Previous teaching or training experience within Hairdressing
Excellent communication and organisational skills
The ability to travel regularly to both the Ashington and Berwick campuses
