An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic, dynamic, highly motivated Clinical Nurse Specialist in the Haemoglobinopathy team, within Haematology at the Royal Hallamshire Hospital. The role will involve a blended approach to working across inpatient, outpatient and community care settings., This role involves working as a Nurse Specialist across inpatient, outpatient, and community settings, providing seamless, patient-centred care throughout the healthcare pathway.
The postholder will assess, plan, and deliver specialist care to patients during hospital admissions, outpatient appointments, and within community bases.
The role requires strong clinical expertise, effective communication, working effectively as part of the MDT and the ability to coordinate care across services to ensure continuity, improve outcomes, reduce inpatient stays, support discharge from hospital and support patients in managing their condition across different care environments.
We are seeking an experienced and caring individual with a genuine interest in Hemoglobinopathy to work within the team. The post holder must be able to drive and have access to their own vehicle for work purposes.
The post holder will operate as an independent practitioner/clinical expert with in-depth knowledge and experience of haemoglobinopathy.
Candidates will have extensive experience of health care governance, education and development, audit and incident investigation. The successful candidate will be expected to participate in Trust wide and Regional safety initiatives and improvement projects relating to Haemoglobinopathy.

This vacancy is advertised on a fixed term contract basis for a period of 22 months due to the post being externally funded. The fixed term contract status of the post holder will be reviewed in accordance with the Trust's legal obligations regarding fixed term contracts taking into consideration the ongoing source of the external funding and the requirement for the post to be maintained.
Please note all existing NHS staff will only be considered on a secondment basis. This must first be agreed with your current line manager.
