Full Job Description
This exciting and dynamic nursing post will support people with haematological conditions from across Mid and South Wales, including patients participating in clinical trials, having chemotherapy, stem cell transplants and CART therapy.
The role would include ensuring safe and effective provision of care is maintained. Supporting and comminicating with junior staff alongside members of the Multi Disiplinary team, together our objective is to ensure patients and their families receive care which is tailored to meet their individual needs.
This is a high acuity and fast paced area which requires the ability to problem solve. You will be expected to take charge of a shift, including the management of beds and staffing. You will be expected to undertake managerial tasks with support from the ward management team, including sickness management and VBAs. There is also an expectation for you to take responsibilty for training as a link nurse in specific areas and support the education of the wider workforce, including indirect and direct mentoring and educational sessions.
There may also be opportunities to support the wider haematology team including Haematology Day Unit, Cardiff Haemophilia Centre, Teenage Cancer Trust Unit and Haematology Ambulatory Care.
Are you a motivated and passionate experienced haematology nurse who is interested in working in an innovative, fast-paced chemotherapy, bone marrow transplant/CART-cell setting? We provide highly specialised care for a wide variety of patient groups within the haematology directorate.
We are looking for a dynamic, motivated individual who is able to lead by clinical excellence. Chemotherapy skills are essential as well as a good knowledge of haematology. This is an opportunity for nurses to develop both their clinical and managerial skills in a forward thinking and motivated environment. We will provide ongoing support and development opportunities supported by our Senior nursing team and Educational facilitators.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this role; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
