Group Legal Advisor, Privacy

Experteer Overview In this role you help Bupa manage privacy, data, and AI-related risk to support responsible use of personal data across the group. You will provide practical privacy and digital-law guidance to cross-functional teams and contribute to policy, governance, and training. The role sits in the Group Privacy team within Legal, Risk & Audit, collaborating with Global Functions and Market Units to enable compliant, commercially aware decisions. You will drive privacy by design in new technology and data initiatives, helping protect customers, people and the business. This is a globally impactful privacy leadership position at a mission-driven healthcare and insurance group. Pay / Benefits

• Provide practical privacy, data protection, digital and AI legal advice to Bupa teams across the group Carry out Data Protection Impact Assessments and Legitimate Interest Assessments; review Data Processing Agreements and intra-group agreements Develop and maintain Bupa's Enterprise Privacy Policy, standards, governance and reporting Stay up to date with changes in privacy law, digital regulation and external best practice Build privacy awareness through briefings, guidance and training Support assessment and implementation of new technology, data and AI solutions with privacy by design Work in line with Bupa's Brave, Caring and Responsible values Tasks Experience as a legal or privacy professional with specialist knowledge of privacy, data, digital and AI law or regulation A legal qualification or professional privacy certification (desirable, e.g., CIPP/E, CIPP/M) Customer-centric with ability to provide clear, commercially aware and practical advice Experience reviewing and negotiating commercial contracts including data protection and AI terms Strong communication skills and ability to explain complex issues to diverse audiences Experience implementing policies, governance and reporting in a global setting Independent, organized, able to manage priorities; collaborative and capable of challenging where needed Enthusiasm for adopting new technology and ways of working Fluent written and spoken English Multinational experience useful but not essential Experience in healthcare, insurance or care settings helpful but not essential Key requirements 25 days annual leave Bupa medical care enhanced pension plan and life insurance flexible working family friendly benefits online discount
