organisation.Principal AccountabilitiesProvide expert advice on environmental matters across the organisationCollaborate with construction, technical, and commercial teams to develop pre-construction HSE plans, surface water management plans, and material management plansConduct audits to ensure compliance with environmental legislation and internal policiesOversee and assess the performance of external HSE consultantsAttend and contribute to HSE meetingsLiaise with enforcement authorities (e.g., EA, SEPA and NRW) and represent the company with external groups such as HBF and MHBGIdentify and recommend any necessary environmental training; deliver in-house training when required.Investigate accidents and incidents, providing reports and liaising with authoritiesDrive knowledge sharing and learning within the health and safety teams to improve practicesSupport the Group Health, Safety and Environment Director with ad-hoc projectsThe above list of accountabilities are not exclusive or
exhaustive. The post holder will be required to undertake any such duties as may be reasonably expectedExperience, Qualifications and SkillsExperiencePrevious experience as an Environmental Advisor or Manager is preferred, ideally within a construction or house-building environmentQualifications and trainingLevel 5 or 6 NVQ qualification or HND, Foundation Degree or Bachelors in Environmental Management or related fieldsMembership to ISEP or working towardsFull UK driving licence requiredSkills and aptitudeStrong knowledge of environmental legislation and regulationsIT literate with proficiency in Word, Excel, and PowerPointExcellent communication and collaboration skillsGood planning and organizational abilitiesStrong inter-departmental communication and collaborationIntegrity and the ability to build positive relationshipsFuture-focused with a drive for continuous improvement and changeAbility to set and uphold high professional standardsAbility to communicate with people on various
