Groundworker (Topman)

The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting drainage and groundwork operations, working closely with plant operators and the site team to ensure works are completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard. This is a hands-on role requiring experience in drainage, excavation support, and general groundworks.,

• Carry out general groundworks including digging, backfilling, and concreting.
• Work as a Topman supporting excavation and drainage operations.
• Assist with the installation of drainage, ducting, and associated infrastructure.
• Hand dig around live services when required.
• Support excavation activities and ensure trenches are prepared safely.
• Operate a Forward Tipping Dumper in line with site requirements.
• Assist plant operators and bank excavators and dumpers.
• Lay and compact Type 1 and other sub-base materials.
• Carry out reinstatement works and assist with external works where required.
• Maintain a safe and tidy working environment at all times.
• Follow site drawings, levels, and supervisor instructions.
• Work effectively as part of a gang to meet programme deadlines., Please note: To comply with client requirements, we can only accept NPORS cards that are CSCS-affiliated and carry the CSCS hologram.   Valid CSCS Card.
• CPCS or NPORS Dumper Ticket (CSCS-affiliated).
• Proven experience as a Groundworker/Topman on civil engineering or groundwork projects.
• Experience in drainage, ducting, and excavation support.
• Confident working around live services.
• Ability to work safely and efficiently within a team.
• Reliable, punctual, and safety conscious.
• Right to work in the UK.
Desirable
• CPCS/NPORS Ride-On Roller.
• CAT & Genny.
• Confined Spaces.
• Safety Critical Medical.
• Experience on large-scale civils or infrastructure projects.
