Groundsman Assistant

The Sodexo team at Shell Bacton is looking for a reliable and hardworking Groundsman Assistant to join our Grounds Maintenance and Facilities Management team. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working outdoors and takes pride in maintaining safe, clean and attractive grounds. You will work as part of a friendly Facilities Management team, helping to ensure the site is maintained to a high standard. Previous grounds maintenance experience is desirable, but full training can be provided for the right candidate. What You'll Do: Your duties will include:

• Carrying out general grounds maintenance and horticultural tasks across the site.
• Grass cutting, edge trimming and general pruning.
• Watering plants, flower beds and containers.
• Collecting and removing waste generated through grounds maintenance activities.
• Emptying and removing rubbish from waste bins.
• Carrying out routine checks and preventative maintenance on grounds maintenance machinery and equipment.
• Assisting the Handyman and Cleaning teams when required.
• Following all company Health & Safety procedures and safe working practices.
• Reporting any hazards, unsafe procedures or concerns to your Line Manager.
• Providing a professional and customer-focused service at all times.
• Completing all required company paperwork and records on a daily, weekly and monthly basis.
• Working as part of the wider Facilities Management team.
• Undertaking reasonable overtime when required.

• Customer-focused with a positive attitude.
• Able to work effectively as part of a team.
• Ideally experienced in grounds maintenance or horticultural work.
• Knowledgeable about Health & Safety requirements.
• Willing to undertake training and develop new skills.
• Able to follow instructions and work safely and responsibly.
• In possession of a
full UK driving licence.
• LANTRA training and Level 2 Application of Pesticides certification are desirable, but not essential. Training can be provided.
