Full Job Description

The role of Grounds Manager is fundamental in the ongoing growth, support and management of the Grounds Team. The Grounds Manager will be responsible for overseeing the Grounds Team, supporting the day-to-day functions whilst working strategically with the Head of Infrastructure and Projects to develop the department and pitch infrastructure. Key tasks/responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Ensuring all pitches and other Grounds facilities are maintained to a high standard and ready to use as and when required
  • Programme and financial management of fertiliser, feed, disease protection and spraying applications to all pitch surfaces at all NCFC sites.
  • Ensure the maintenance, servicing and security of all equipment and machinery is completed as per manufacturers guidelines.
  • Manage routine equipment and machinery repairs
  • Liaise with the men & women's 1st team and Academy PoC's to ensure correct pitch allocations for matches and training, whilst maintaining maintenance periods for all pitches
  • Carry out day-to-day operational duties, including preparation for severe weather.
  • Ensure all work is completed within H&S guidelines and ensuring all machinery is kept in a safe and secure serviceable state.
  • Be responsible for the health, safety and welfare of all customers, contractors and Grounds Staff whilst grounds work is being carried out at all NCFC sites.
  • Ensure all routine pre-start checks are conducted on machinery before use and report any failures/faults Storage of all equipment is to be keep clean and returned appropriately.
  • Ensure landscaped areas are maintained and at the highest standard at all times across all Club sites.
  • To act in a manner that supports the Club's Values of Growth, Integrity, Belonging, Resilience, Pride and Commitment

    NVQ Level 3 in Sports Turf Management is essential
  • Achieved or working towards NVQ Level 3 Advanced Level Apprenticeship in Horticulture is desirable
  • NTPC PA1, PA2 and PA6 Spraying Certificates or working towards is essential
  • Experience of working in a sporting environment is essential
  • Experience and knowledge of all types of machinery associated with grounds maintenance
  • A full driving licence is essential
