You will manage the charity's grant-giving programme from application through to impact reporting, working closely with clinicians, researchers and hospital teams to turn innovative ideas into funded projects that improve lives.

Manage the Grant ProgrammeLead the administration of Royal Papworth Charity's £3 million annual grant programme, overseeing the full grant lifecycle from application to evaluation. Ensure funding is allocated fairly, transparently and in line with strategic priorities.

Main duties of the job

Support Innovation

Work with clinical, research and operational teams to develop high-quality funding applications, providing guidance to support projects that improve patient care, staff wellbeing and research.

Monitor Impact

Build relationships with funded project leads to evaluate outcomes, capture impact and produce reports and case studies that demonstrate the value of charitable funding.

Strengthen Governance

Ensure grant-making complies with charity regulations, NHS governance and best practice. Maintain accurate records, improve processes and support reporting and audit requirements.

Build Partnerships

Develop strong relationships across the hospital, supporting applicants throughout the funding process and working with fundraising colleagues to showcase the impact of funded projects.

Drive Improvement

Help shape the future of the grant programme by improving systems, embedding best practice and promoting innovation, collaboration and measurable impact.

We perform the most heart and/or lung transplants in the UK and carried out the UK's first successful heart transplant in 1979. It also offers emergency heart attack treatment, sleep centre care and is one of just five centres nationally for those in severe respiratory failure.
