Want to be at the heart of delivering high-impact grant programmes? Join our Grantmaking Team as a Grant Officer and bring together your passion for purposeful, responsible grantmaking with strong coordination and delivery skills. You will be an integral member of an experienced and dedicated team, with the chance to work across a variety of programme areas, gaining valuable experience in a multitude of grantmaking approaches. If you're driven by purpose-led work, operational excellence and a desire for impact, this role offers the chance to deliver programmes that are thoughtful, efficient and effective. What you will do At CAF, every one of us contributes to our impact, and as our Grant Officer you too will play an integral part in what we do. Within CAF's Impact Accelerator we design and deliver a range of impact-focused grant programmes on behalf of donors. In this vital role, you'll support the day-to-day delivery of a diverse portfolio, helping to ensure programmes run smoothly through effective coordination and well-managed processes. You'll play a key role in bringing programmes to life by supporting the implementation of systems and workflows across the full grant lifecycle. Working as part of a wider grantmaking team, you'll contribute to best practice, support continuous improvement, and help keep delivery on track to maximise impact This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys hands on delivery of grant programmes, and thrives in a collaborative, purpose-driven setting. As our Grant Officer you will:

  • Support the delivery of a portfolio of grant programmes, working closely with Grantmaking Delivery Managers and colleagues to ensure activities run smoothly and on schedule
  • Administer grants through their full lifecycle, maintaining accurate records in our grantmaking platform and ensuring consistency across processes
  • Act as a key point of contact for applicants and grant holders, responding to enquiries and supporting positive relationships
  • Contribute to the assessment of applications and preparation of reports, analysis and programme updates for internal and external stakeholders
  • Assist with governance processes and programme reporting to ensure accuracy, compliance and effective oversight
  • Collaborate with teams across CAF to improve processes, develop new ways of working, and support high-quality, impact-led grantmaking delivery

This role is for you if you have experience of working in grantmaking, social purpose organisations or have relevant transferable skills and are keen to make a difference to society. We are looking for someone who is:
  • Passionate about making a difference through high-quality, impactful grantmaking
  • Proactive and organised, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
  • A collaborative team player who enjoys building positive relationships with colleagues, partners and grant holders
  • Curious and improvement-focused, always looking for ways to make processes smoother and more effective
  • Confident using systems and technology, with a willingness to learn and get the most out of digital tools

The Charities Aid Foundation exists to accelerate progress in society towards a fair and sustainable future for all. Over the last 100 years, we have led the way in developing innovative approaches to giving. Annually, we distribute over £1 billion to social purpose organisations around the globe.
  • As a leading charity operating from the UK, US and Canada, alongside an international network of partners, CAF works at the centre of the giving world. We collaborate with corporate and individual donors to enable them to give more effectively, strategically and impactfully. This includes connecting them to charities globally and providing access to our in-depth sector knowledge, governance expertise and innovative giving solutions. We help social purpose organisations to strengthen their resilience and do more of their life changing work, through strategic advisory services from our Impact Accelerator, tools to support charities' fundraising activities, and charity financial services from CAF Bank Limited and CAF Financial Solutions Limited. Using our research, policy and campaigns work, we understand and influence the wider environment for charities and donors.
