2. Post 2: Creative 3D Making & Digital Design (focusing on desktop 3D printing, digital design software, small scale prototyping) While each post has a primary focus, both roles will collaborate, overlap, and cross-train. Hands-on training will be provided for all equipment, software, and operational processes. You do not need to be an expert in both areas or on specific equipment from day one. We are looking for candidates who are eager to learn and grow, and we will provide the training needed to build your skills across all technologies at our facilities. In both roles, you will split your time between the specialist technical facilities at our Harrow Campus (supporting the College of Creative Arts & Technologies) and Zone 29, our brand-new careers and enterprise hub. As Zone 29 evolves, you will receive training to help shape and activate these spaces, adding direct value to our graduates' entrepreneurial efforts and supporting students as they build vital digital production skills. Key responsibilities include working closely with an experienced technical team, you will receive training and mentoring to provide technical support across the digital production environments and emerging makerspaces.

  • Technical Support: Assisting students and graduates with either podcast/media production facilities or digital design facilities and tools following initial training.
  • Skill Development & Cross-Training: Participating in training to gain confidence across both specialisms and learn new equipment as technologies are introduced.
  • Safety & Compliance: Maintaining a safe studio environment by learning and enforcing safety protocols, risk assessments, and access rules.
  • Operations & Admin: Handling day-to-day setup of spaces, managing attendance records, and maintaining resource booking systems.
  • Maintenance & Teamwork: Carrying out basic equipment inspections, reporting faults, and participating in team meetings to ensure a responsive, high-quality service for all users.
  • To be successful in either post, you must have recently completed an Undergraduate or Postgraduate course of study at the University of Westminster in a discipline relevant to Creative Media Production, Digital Design, Technology, or Creative Making.
