Full Job Description

We are seeking a Graduate Studies Administrator to join the Education Team at the University of Oxford. The Department of Oncology is a large multi-disciplinary department which excels in a wide range of research areas spanning basic science to translational research and clinical trials. It is committed to the provision of world-class graduate training programmes and actively supports the career development of future scientific leaders in cancer medicine. The Graduate Studies Administrator is a key position in the department supporting a range of administrative duties relating to successful delivery of graduate studies for both taught and research Masters degrees, and doctoral research degrees (DPhil/PhD). The Administrator will be responsible for one area of the Department's graduate studies provision (i.e. one course, or group of related courses) and will work within a team to deliver on departmental education objectives. This role involves a varied and complex range of administrative functions including the co-ordination of graduate admissions and induction, organisation of educational events, scheduling teaching programmes and administration of examination processes. Reporting to the Deputy Director of Education the post-holder will work closely with the other members of the department's core education team including Course Directors and Teaching Fellows.

You will be educated to A-Level or equivalent, with proven administrative experience in a comparable role. Have experience of co-ordinating teaching and learning, training courses, seminars or other similar event organisation You will have excellent attention to detail in recording and communicating information and hold excellent skills in Office IT systems, including Microsoft Outlook (both email and calendar management), Microsoft PowerPoint, word, excel, sharepoint, lecture recording (Panopto) virtual learning environment (e.g. Canvas), online reading lists and database management. Experience of working in the Higer Education sector, particularly in the area of course administration or similar is desirable, but not essential.
