We are looking for an enthusiastic and capable graduate to join our Democratic Services team as a Graduate Policy & Research Support Officer. This role provides a unique opportunity supporting Elected Members, including the Leader, Cabinet and Group Leaders, helping them make informed decisions that affect people across our communities. You will get involved in researching key policy issues, analysing performance data to provide clear useful insights and create concise briefings that support decision-making.
Our graduate scheme provides fantastic opportunities to learn new and transferable skills and meet people from a range of backgrounds. You will play a key role and as such will need to build rapport and trust with people quickly, be highly organised, self-motivated and committed to the approach. In return you will be supported to develop your skills, knowledge and networks and build a strong understanding of how local democracy works in practice.

The role is a 2 year fixed term post and will provide on-the-job training and support, a competitive salary, the option of joining the Council's Pension Scheme
