Graduate Paramedic (Full C1)

Successful candidates will be placed onto a dedicated Overlay Roster for a minimum period of 12 months. The Overlay Roster has been designed to support operational resilience across London and provides additional workforce capacity where demand is highest. As a result, the roster will contain a higher proportion of unsocial hours than standard operational rosters. Applications to move from the Overlay Roster through flexible working or reasonable adjustment processes will be considered centrally and balanced against operational requirements at the time. As a Graduate Paramedic, you will:

• Work within your scope of practice and professional competence, seeking clinical advice and support when required.
• Deliver high-quality patient care in line with Trust policies, procedures and clinical guidelines.
• Assess, treat and appropriately refer patients using established care pathways.
• Reduce inappropriate demand on emergency services by supporting access to alternative healthcare services where appropriate.
• Work collaboratively across professional boundaries to support the delivery of urgent and emergency care.
• Contribute to the delivery of a flexible and responsive ambulance service for the people of London., The post holder will:
• Undertake paramedic duties as part of an operational crew, working within their scope of practice and in accordance with Trust policies, procedures, SOPs and clinical guidelines.
• Seek clinical advice and support whenever required and in accordance with Trust protocols.
• Maintain a continuous duty of care to patients, ensuring appropriate treatment, monitoring and assessment until patients are discharged, referred or handed over to another healthcare professional.
• Communicate effectively and professionally with patients, relatives, colleagues, healthcare professionals and partner agencies.
• Demonstrate empathy, compassion and professionalism when supporting patients and families.
• Adhere to all clinical governance, medicines management and patient safety requirements.
• Complete all patient documentation accurately, including electronic patient records, in accordance with Information Governance standards.
• Maintain HCPC registration and comply with HCPC Standards of Conduct, Performance and Ethics.
• Develop and maintain a professional portfolio in line with the National Qualified Paramedic Framework.
• Participate in training, education and development activities identified through personal and professional development planning.
• Promote and uphold the Trust's values and behaviours in all interactions.
• Act as a positive ambassador for London Ambulance Service.

• Be a paramedicine graduate or due to complete a paramedicine degree by 30 September 2026.
• Be HCPC registered or expected to receive HCPC registration by 11 October 2026.
• Hold a current Category B driving licence with no more than three penalty points.
• Hold a full C1 driving licence at the time of application.
• Be available to commence training at Dockside Education Centre on either: 9 November 2026, or 23 November 2026.
