Full Job Description
The responsibilities for the GP Pharmacy Hub Clinical Supervisor will include: Clinical supervision to the pharmacy prescription hub and pharmacist prescribers, as per CQC requirements and guidance for clinical pharmacists in general practice education and supervision of multidisciplinary teams https://www.england.nhs.uk/long-read/supervision-guidance-for-primary-care-network-multidisciplinary-teams/ this will include: Supervision as a Designated Medical Practitioner for a clinical pharmacist on the CPPE Primary Care Pharmacy Education Programme (PCPEP) Supervision as a Designated Medical Practitioner for a postgraduate certificate in Pharmacist Independent Prescribing (IP) Provision of advice and guidance to the pharmacy prescription hub service leads. Case based discussions with non-medical prescribers Observation of pharmacists and pharmacy technicians patient consultations and giving feedback on consultation skills and patient management plans Assessment of clinical skills for
pharmacist prescribers in training, and use of the prescribing competency framework https://www.rpharms.com/resources/frameworks/prescribers-competency-framework Provide a response to issues as they arise Support role development and integration into practice for pharmacist prescribers Advise on safety and quality of patient services and management of workload Provide regular developmental conversations and debriefs Feedback on progress to education supervisors Review of standard operating procedures and protocols in use in the pharmacy prescription hub to ensure fitness for purpose, in conjunction with the pharmacist prescribers Advice on/participation in Quality Improvement work, primarily in the pharmacy prescription hub but also with the PCN clinical pharmacy teams Communicate effectively with other team members Respecting the privacy, dignity, needs and beliefs of patients, carers and colleagues Adhere to governance arrangements for Honorary Contract holders determined by Newcastle
upon Tyne Hospitals, including NHS Employment Checks, attendance at Trust and Departmental Induction, Mandatory Training and annual Appraisal conversation. Secondary responsibilities may include: Support work into health inequalities, including review of prescribing data Collecting or analysing data for clinical audit purposes
