Design Your Own Portfolio Career
We can offer salaried sessions to suit you and can support the development of specialist interests and hospital work.

Sandwell and West Birmingham NHS Trust (SWBT) is an integrated care organisation with a budget of approximately £600 million and over 7,000 staff. Diversity and social care is at the core of what we do as the Trust provides Community and Acute Services to over half a million people in an urban centre that demands massive regeneration and has substantial premature mortality.
Our new acute hospital, the Midland Metropolitan University Hospital (MMUH), opened in 2024 and will provide care to our local population from first class, purpose-built premises. The development of the new hospital will play an important role in the regeneration of the wider area and in improving the lives of local people and reducing health inequalities.
The strategic objectives cover:
1. Our People - to cultivate and sustain happy, productive and engaged staff
2. Our Patients - to be good or outstanding in everything we do
3. Our Population - to work seamlessly with our partners to improve lives
Values
We have developed a new set of values and are currently working with colleagues across the Trust to agree the behavioural framework to go alongside these.

Sandwell and West Birmingham Hospitals NHS Trust is committed to equality of opportunity and is a no smoking organisation
Multi-site working
The four partner Trusts of the Black Country Provider Collaborative (Dudley Group NHS FT, Royal Wolverhampton NHS Trust, Sandwell & West Birmingham NHS Trust, and Walsall Healthcare NHS Trust) are actively working in partnership to deliver a collective vision focused on providing "better, faster and safer care to the population of the Black Country and beyond".
To support this vision, we are (where appropriate and safe to do so) actively looking at new models of care which:
· Better protect elective / planned care service delivery across the system by organising on a 'hot and cold' arrangement
· Consider the optimal use of resources through consolidation and specialisation, and
· Seek to reduce unwarranted variance, level up / standardise care through a 'Networked Service Solution' approach across the four sites
Against this context, although this post is hosted by Sandwell & West Birmingham NHS Trust, there may be an expectation to work flexibly across the four partner Trusts to better meet patient and service needs.
As a major employer in the Black Country and West Birmingham region we are committed to supporting all employees to achieve a healthy work life balance. We want the Black Country and West Birmingham region to be the best place to work and as such will consider all requests to work flexibly taking into account personal and individual circumstances alongside the needs of the service. We encourage all prospective applicants to discuss their individual circumstances with the Recruiting Manager as part of the on-boarding process.
Healthcare services have a significant impact on the environment. We are committed to embedding sustainable practices. We expect all colleagues to support the delivery of our Green Strategic Plan and to drive positive changes in their department by joining our Green Impact programme.

We pay £12829.18 per session and offer 6 weeks annual leave and one weeks study leave but if you want to agree some additional unpaid time off to climb a mountain or visit a desert then tell us and we will find a way to let you go.
Vacancies are available now for 12 sessions with Monday cover and some extended hours cover required for Saturdays, other days negotiable. Base location will be Regis Medical Centre.
Applications would be encouraged for experienced trainers or those willing to undertake this. In addition we would expect the post holder to contribute to our community beds team based at Rowley Village Surgery.
