Full Job Description
This is an exciting opportunity to join the Governance and Risk team at Bradford Children and Families Trust, supporting the development and delivery of effective governance, risk management and assurance arrangements across the organisation. The role will help ensure that the Trust has clear, accurate and timely oversight of key risks, actions, compliance requirements and performance information. You will support the maintenance of the Trust's strategic and operational risk registers, work with services to identify and manage risks, and contribute to clear reporting for senior leaders, committees and the Trust Board. The role will also support insight reporting across areas including corporate risk, customer care and complaints, and Information Governance activity, helping the Trust to identify trends, emerging risks and areas for improvement. This is a varied role for someone who is organised, analytical and confident working with information. You will need to be able to build positive relationships across teams, communicate clearly, and support a proportionate and enabling approach to governance and risk management. - Maintain and update strategic and operational risk registers, including tracking mitigations, actions and progress.
- Support services to identify, assess and mitigate risks in line with the Trust's Risk Management Framework.
- Prepare risk reports, summaries and accessible information for senior leaders, committees and the Trust Board.
- Track and coordinate audit, assurance and governance actions across the Governance and Risk department.
- Support governance and compliance monitoring, including business insurance, policy compliance and declarations of interest processes.
- Develop and maintain dashboards and insight reporting to support good decision-making.
- Analyse data to identify trends, emerging risks and pressure points.
- Work collaboratively across Governance, Risk, Information Governance and Customer Care to support a joined-up approach.
- Promote continuous improvement and good governance practice across the Trust.
A minimum of 2 A Levels, or equivalent qualification, or demonstrable equivalent experience in a relevant area such as corporate governance, risk, compliance, performance or business support. - Experience of working in a corporate governance, risk, compliance, assurance or related business support environment.
- Experience of maintaining registers, logs, action trackers or performance information.
- Good data handling and analytical skills, including confidence working with spreadsheets and management information.
- The ability to analyse information and present it clearly for a range of audiences.
- Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.
- Good written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain complex or technical information clearly.
- The ability to handle confidential and sensitive information appropriately.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively across teams and services. This is a hybrid working role, with a minimum of 2 days per week in the office. As part of the interview process, shortlisted candidates will be asked to complete an assessment relevant to the role.
