Are you an enthusiastic and ambitious golf coach with a passion for developing young golfers within a high-performing school environment?
Bedford School is seeking to appoint a Golf Professional to support the continued growth and development of one of the school's fastest-growing and highest-performing sports programmes from September 2026.
Golf at Bedford School has expanded significantly in recent years, with growing participation across both Prep and Upper School and over 70 pupils currently involved in simulator coaching alone. Recent achievements include National Schools Team Scratch Champions, National Finalists and multiple SWIFTS Tour victories.
The successful candidate will play a leading role in coaching, simulator provision, fixture support and player development across both Prep and Upper School golf. Working closely with the Director of Sport and MiC Golf, the role will support pupils across recreational, development and performance pathways, whilst contributing positively to the culture, standards and profile of golf across the school.
The school benefits from strong relationships with Woburn Golf Club and John O'Gaunt Golf Club, providing pupils with access to outstanding training and competitive opportunities within an ambitious and well-supported golf programme.
This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated golf professional to work within a thriving independent school environment that is heavily invested in sport, facilities and long-term programme development.
The role will include:
· Delivering high-quality coaching across Prep and Upper School golf programmes
· Delivering individual and small-group simulator coaching sessions
· Supporting pupils across performance, development and recreational pathways
· Supporting fixtures, competitions, tours and residential events
· Supporting long-term player development and Prep-to-Upper School pathways
· Supporting recruitment events, taster sessions and admissions activities
· Supporting the effective operation and utilisation of the school's golf simulator facilities

· Holds a PGA qualification, or an equivalent nationally recognised golf coaching qualification
· Has experience coaching and developing junior golfers across a range of ages and abilities
· Has experience using TrackMan or golf simulator technology
· Communicates confidently and works well within a team environment
· Builds positive professional relationships with pupils, parents and colleagues
· Demonstrates high levels of professionalism, enthusiasm and energy
· Will contribute positively to the culture, standards and profile of golf across the school
Experience within a school or academy environment, experience coaching elite junior golfers, and experience delivering camps or outreach activities would be advantageous, although not essential.
· Actual salary: £26,677.75 (term time plus one week), based on a full-time equivalent salary of £32,000.00.
