Global Mobility Manager

As Global Mobility Manager, you will provide University-wide expertise on international working, helping departments and senior colleagues understand and manage the implications of an increasingly diverse range of overseas arrangements. From individual international working requests to larger collaborations and expansion into new territories, you will ensure that complex tax, social security, payroll and wider regulatory considerations are translated into clear advice and workable solutions. Working closely with academic departments and colleagues across Tax, Payroll, HR, Insurance, Pensions and Legal, you will lead the development and delivery of approaches to international mobility. This includes overseeing the University's network of overseas shadow payrolls, supporting expansion of its international payroll arrangements, shaping policies and procedures, and coordinating complex cases through to resolution. You will also build effective relationships with external professional advisers and provide specialist insight to project and research oversight boards. Your leadership will help establish consistent, well-managed approaches to international working across the University. As a senior member of the Tax team, you will influence decision-making, strengthen institutional understanding of international mobility risks and develop the University's capability to support overseas activity. You will also manage and develop the International Working Coordinator, fostering an inclusive and collaborative approach to delivering a high-quality service.

• Recognised expertise and professional experience in global mobility and international employment tax, gained either in-house or as an adviser. Experience of providing specialist advice and developing global mobility policies and procedures that enable organisations to manage tax, social security and compliance risks effectively.
• A professional qualification in Tax, Finance or Payroll Management, or equivalent experience within a complex financial environment. Strong project management and organisational skills, with experience of leading complex projects involving multiple stakeholders and competing priorities.
• Excellent communication and influencing skills, including the ability to explain complex technical matters clearly to non-specialist audiences and decision-makers. The ability to build effective relationships and collaborate across professional functions and with external advisers to deliver practical solutions.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the judgement to investigate complex issues and develop pragmatic recommendations. Experience of managing, motivating and developing staff or teams while contributing to an inclusive and collaborative working environment.
• Excellent IT skills, including effective use of Microsoft Office and experience of organisational database systems or equivalent.
