Join a team delivering complex, high-impact projects that shape infrastructure, utilities and the built environment across the UK. At Tetra Tech, you'll combine advanced geospatial expertise with real project ownership, working on technically challenging surveys that support major programmes across water, defence, nuclear and infrastructure sectors.

Purpose & Scope of the Role

As a Geospatial Surveyor, you will deliver surveying and geospatial projects from initial planning through to final delivery, supporting a diverse range of technically demanding projects across the UK. Working within a collaborative national team, you'll combine field-based surveying with office-based data processing and analysis to produce high-quality outputs for clients across multiple sectors.

This role offers genuine variety, autonomy and client exposure, giving you the opportunity to take ownership of projects while developing your technical and professional capabilities in a supportive environment focused on innovation, collaboration and continuous development.

Your Impact in this Position

You'll play a key role in delivering accurate geospatial information that supports critical engineering, infrastructure and asset management decisions. Your expertise in surveying, data capture and interpretation will help clients manage complex projects safely, efficiently and effectively.

By building strong client relationships and delivering reliable technical outputs, you'll contribute directly to successful project outcomes while strengthening the reputation of Tetra Tech's Geospatial team across the UK and beyond.

Core Capabilities

  • Geospatial Survey Delivery:

    • Deliver geospatial surveying projects from inception through to completion

    • Carry out topographical, setting-out, measured building, levelling and laser scanning surveys

  • Data Capture & Technical Analysis:

    • Capture, process and interpret high-quality survey data using industry-leading technologies

    • Produce accurate outputs using AutoCAD, Leica Infinity and related software tools

  • Survey Technology Expertise:

    • Operate Total Station and GNSS equipment confidently across varied project environments

    • Apply modern surveying techniques to support technically complex projects

  • Client & Project Collaboration:

    • Build strong working relationships with clients and multidisciplinary project teams

    • Balance site-based and office-based responsibilities while managing competing priorities effectively

  • Professionalism & Adaptability:

    • Work independently with a proactive, solutions-focused approach

    • Adapt to different sectors, project locations and operational requirements

Training, Qualifications & Experience

Experience in topographical surveying, survey software and GNSS/Total Station equipment is essential, alongside strong communication and client-facing skills. Experience with laser scanning, levelling, measured building surveys or terrain modelling would be advantageous, as would a relevant technical qualification. A full UK driving licence is required.

Working Environment

This role offers a balance of site, office and hybrid working, with flexibility available where practical to support work/life balance. Projects are located across the UK, with occasional international opportunities and travel depending on project requirements. You'll join a collaborative and supportive team environment with opportunities for professional development and chartership support.
