Full Job Description

Clinical duties:
Outpatient clinical work will include general paediatric clinics, diabetes and endocrine clinics.
The post holder will provide support and contribute to the provision of acute general paediatric and neonatal care. They will work with a team of colleagues to lead in the day to day running of the child health department and provide continuity of care. There will be an opportunity to develop roles in management and clinical governance and the post holder will be supported to develop roles and gain experience in diabetes and endocrinology. The post holder will be allocated a mentor and will be expected to participate in the regular appraisal process.
Administrative Duties
There will be requirements to undertake the administrative duties associated with the care of patients.
Teaching
The post holder will contribute to teaching and training of the residents and medical students. The department is committed to high quality multi-disciplinary education.
We have medical students from both University Hospital Southampton and St Georges University, Grenada on a regular basis.
Clinical Governance
Participation in the departmental clinical governance for which regular meetings are held.
Secretarial Support/ Office
The post holder will be supported by a secretary and share consultant offices within the department.
Residence
Residence within either 10 miles or 30 minutes by road from the hospital is a normal requirement of this post for on call duties., If you have any further queries, please do not hesitate to contact us.
