General Manager

As a General Manager, you will be responsible for the overall leadership and performance of the club. You will create a positive environment for colleagues and members while driving operational excellence, membership growth and commercial success. Through effective leadership, coaching and collaboration, you will support colleague development, maintain high standards and ensure the club delivers exceptional member experiences in a safe, welcoming and inclusive environment. Responsibilities:

• Ensure that all policies and procedures in both the Health and Safety Employee Policy and Company Procedures Handbook are adhered to.
• Responsible for adhering to and maintaining the JD Gyms Brand Standard.
• Conduct daily, weekly, and monthly safety checks. Report and chase all defects, to ensure the building and its equipment is safe to use.
• Recruit and manage a team of employed Fitness Coaches and General Assistants to ensure the club is operational cover to ensure daily expectations are delivered.
• Hold regular team meetings to aid development and keep everyone updated.
• To work towards and aim to achieve all sales and membership targets that are set.
• To drive and maximise secondary spending revenue.
• To ensure the whole of the gym facility is of the highest standard of cleanliness.
• Ensure the in-house cleaners (General Assistant) are cleaning to the highest standard. To manage the weekly banking process so that wastage and variance is minimal, maximising profit.
• To ensure uniform standards are being adhered to by all team members and yourself.
• Deliver outstanding member service through positive and professional interactions.
• Help create a positive, supportive and engaging working environment for colleagues.
• To always be an ambassador of JD Gyms. Skills and Experience:
• Experience leading teams and managing operations within a leisure, fitness, hospitality or customer-focused environment.
• Demonstrates a strong commitment to delivering excellent member service.
• Experience contributing to membership growth, commercial performance, local marketing initiatives and business objectives.
• Experience supporting operational delivery, people leadership and commercial performance within a leisure or customer-focused environment.
