Full Job Description

We are looking for a friendly, caring and approachable General Assistant to join our care home team.

As a General Assistant, you will play an important role in creating a welcoming and enjoyable experience for our residents. You will be a familiar and friendly face around the home, helping to serve food and drinks while taking the time to chat with residents and make them feel comfortable and valued.

This is a front-of-house, resident-facing role, so we are looking for someone who genuinely enjoys talking to people, has a warm personality and takes pride in providing excellent service.

Key Responsibilities

Welcome and interact with residents in a warm, friendly and respectful manner.

Serve tea, coffee, drinks, sandwiches, snacks and meals to residents.

Assist with serving breakfast, lunch, dinner and refreshments throughout the day.

Talk and engage with residents while serving them, helping to create a pleasant and sociable mealtime experience.

Ensure residents receive their meals and drinks in a timely and welcoming manner.

Help set up and clear dining areas before and after meals.

Keep dining and serving areas clean, tidy and presentable.

Follow food hygiene, health and safety procedures at all times.

Report any concerns about a resident's wellbeing, appetite or dietary needs to the appropriate member of staff.

Work closely with the care and kitchen teams to ensure residents receive a positive mealtime experience.
