Full Job Description

The Greater Cambridge Partnership (GCP) is responsible for transforming Greater Cambridge through a City Deal aimed at unlocking the economic growth potential of the area over the coming decades and releasing thousands of new jobs and homes. This role will lead and support on communications for a range of projects being delivered by the GCP. The postholder will lead and be responsible for the delivery of our communications, public engagement and consultation. You will work with colleagues across the organisation on the delivery of our communications strategy to engage with our audiences and make sure that the public are able to input and give us feedback on our projects. The Communications Manager will work closely with colleagues across GCP and support the Head of Public Affairs and Stakeholder Management.What will you be doing? The postholder will be a key member of our team and will:

  • Deliver internal and external communications, including media liaison
  • Lead on communications to support projects
  • Drive innovation, creative thinking and alternative ways of delivering outcomes in line with delivering the GCP's vision
  • Manage resources within agreed procedures
  • From speaking to the media, developing a stakeholder programme and working with the team to produce exciting and innovative campaign materials, you will explain how schemes and projects are being delivered to drive improvements for people living, working, studying, and playing in and around the city., Our Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Strategy, along with our employee network 'IDEAL' and self-organised peer support groups help us to foster an inclusive, supportive and safe working environment where people feel valued, respected, and empowered.
