Full Job Description

A Vacancy at Norfolk and Norwich University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. Join a passionate and welcoming team dedicated to making a real difference to the lives of people living with liver disease. The Liver Service sits within the Gastroenterology Department at Norfolk and Norwich University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust and provides specialist care for patients across Norfolk and Waveney. We support patients with a wide range of liver conditions, from diagnosis and treatment through to long-term management, helping them navigate what can often be a complex and challenging journey. Our friendly multidisciplinary team includes specialist nurses, consultants, allied health professionals and administrative colleagues who work closely together to deliver outstanding, patient-centred care. We are proud of the supportive culture we have created, where innovation, collaboration and professional development are actively encouraged. As demand for liver services continues to grow, this is an exciting time to join the team. We are continually developing new ways of working, expanding access to specialist care, and improving outcomes for our patients through education, outreach services, quality improvement projects and evidence-based practice. This role offers the opportunity to develop advanced specialist skills in hepatology, including FibroScan assessment, patient education, treatment monitoring and autonomous clinical decision-making. You will be supported by an experienced team committed to helping you grow and succeed in your career. We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Registered Nurse to join our specialist Liver Service within the Gastroenterology Department. The post holder will be responsible for managing a caseload of patients with chronic liver disease, providing specialist assessment, treatment monitoring, education and ongoing clinical support throughout the patient pathway. Working closely with consultants and the wider multidisciplinary team, you will contribute to the delivery of high-quality, evidence-based care, supporting patients to understand their condition, treatment options and self-management strategies. The role includes providing specialist advice to patients and healthcare professionals, coordinating care across organisational boundaries, participating in service development initiatives, and supporting the continuous improvement of patient outcomes and experience. This is a varied role that combines direct patient care, autonomous clinical practice, education and service development, offering an excellent opportunity for a nurse wishing to develop expertise within a specialist field
