Full Job Description
The Gas Compliance Manager is responsible for ensuring all gas-related activities across the Local Authority are delivered safely, legally, and in full compliance with current regulations and industry standards. This role leads a small team of Gas Engineers, providing day-to-day management, technical guidance, and performance oversight to ensure high-quality delivery of gas works and mechanical services. The position is strongly IT-focused and primarily office-based, overseeing compliance records, asset information, certification, audit data, and maintenance planning through digital systems. The manager coordinates planned and reactive gas and mechanical works, reviews technical documentation, conducts compliance checks, and ensures all work is completed in line with safety requirements and operational procedures. Key responsibilities include managing team workload, monitoring statutory compliance, maintaining Gas Safe documentation, supporting audits, and ensuring robust reporting and record-keeping. The role requires strong organisational skills, clear communication, technical understanding of gas and mechanical services, and a proactive approach to maintaining a safe and compliant operation.
