Gardener Handyperson

As our Gardener Handyperson at Ingestre Hall, you will help maintain a safe, welcoming and attractive environment for visiting schools, staff and guests. This varied role combines gardening, grounds maintenance and general site support, ensuring our historic outdoor learning centre remains a high-quality setting for residential and educational experiences.,

• Maintain lawns, gardens, trees and outdoor spaces, including planting, pruning, weeding and seasonal grounds care.
• Carry out routine maintenance and minor repairs to buildings, equipment and outdoor facilities.
• Help ensure the site remains safe, clean and compliant with health and safety requirements.
• Maintain gardening tools and equipment, supporting efficient day-to-day operations across the site.
• Support residential visits and special events, including occasional overnight duties and assistance with functions held at Ingestre Hall.
  
  Practical experience in gardening, grounds maintenance, conservation or woodland management.
• Experience using and maintaining gardening and DIY tools and equipment safely and effectively.
• A good understanding of health and safety practices, including risk awareness when working outdoors and undertaking maintenance tasks.
• The ability to work independently, use initiative and plan workloads effectively.
• A reliable, flexible and customer-focused approach, with strong teamwork and communication skills.
Additional Information: This is a physically active role involving outdoor work throughout the year, manual handling, gardening activities and walking on uneven ground. The successful candidate must be willing to work flexibly to meet the seasonal demands of the role and participate in occasional overnight residential duties and events support.
