Full Job Description

As a Ganger, you'll lead a team of at least four operatives, delivering maintenance and construction works across Skipton and surrounding areas. From kerb installation and drainage repairs to footway construction and traffic management, your work will directly impact the safety and quality of our roads. You'll also:

  • Ensure works are completed to specification and on schedule
  • Manage supply chain partners and coordinate site activities
  • Operate equipment and carry out routine and cyclical maintenance
  • Participate in out-of-hours call-outs for emergencies and winter maintenance

    Level 2 qualification in highway maintenance or equivalent experience
  • Strong knowledge of health & safety legislation, risk assessments, and safe systems of work
  • Proven experience leading and directing a team
  • Desirable (training provided if needed):
  • Banksman, Manual Handling, Abrasive Wheels, Emergency First Aid, Safe Dig
  • Traffic Management TM1 and TM2
