Fundraising Manager - Arts, Culture & Learning

Rotherham is investing in a bold new Cultural Development Team - and we're looking for an experienced Fundraising Manager who can unlock investment, build strategic relationships, and secure the resources that make transformative heritage, nature and environment and skills and talent development programmes possible. This is a high-impact role at the heart of the borough's cultural ambition. You'll work across Culture, Sport & Tourism to shape fundable projects, build a forward pipeline of opportunities, and secure external investment that drives innovation, inclusion and community wellbeing. You will work proactively to identifying and assessing funding opportunities, building and maintaining strong strategic relationships with key funders and partners. The role will be focused on the research and development of high-quality, competitive funding applications to a diverse range of funding bodies across sectors including heritage, nature, green spaces, skills and talent development. This post will lead:

• Project and programme development - shaping ideas across heritage, nature, and skills into fundable, high-impact proposals.
• Funding pipeline management - developing a forward plan aligned with service priorities and emerging strategic objectives.
• Bid writing and applications - producing high-quality, competitive submissions to trusts, foundations, public bodies and cross-sector funders.
• Governance and compliance - ensuring monitoring, reporting, financial oversight and performance tracking meet funder expectations.
• Funded project management - overseeing delivery against objectives, outputs and budgets, taking corrective action where needed.
• Data, evidence and evaluation - developing and analysing demographic, performance and evaluation data to strengthen bids and demonstrate impact.
• Collaborative delivery - working closely with internal teams and external partners to support successful programme delivery and evaluation.
  
  Successful track record of securing funding from grant-giving organisations, trusts and foundations.
• Budget management and experience developing successful fundraising strategies.
• Information handling and analysis with accuracy, confidentiality and security.
• Strong ICT skills - spreadsheets, databases, presentations, internet and email.
• Multi-disciplinary partnership development across internal and external stakeholders.
• Experience managing complex contracts and funding agreements.
• Excellent written skills - especially bid writing and grant monitoring reports.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills for funder engagement and partnership working.
• Experience of managing and reporting associated with complex contracts and funding agreements.
Desirable Knowledge & Experience
• Experience working within heritage, natural environment and skills sectors.
• Prior experience developing individual giving fundraising strategies.
Working Arrangements
• Hybrid working available; base location Riverside House.
• Some out-of-hours work may be required to support events and concerts.
