CLOSING DATE 19th June 2026 We are seeking Qualified Functional Skills Tutors to support our Post 16 Warwickshire delivery team. Location - across Warwickshire Outreach & Post 16 Hub based in Nuneaton - own transport required to transport young people. Working pattern - 40 weeks (term time plus 5 days across the year for training & development) Working hours - Monday - Friday 9am - 5pm (Part time days available) September Start Date! Many of the children and young people we support-those with SEMH needs or SEN-have experienced difficulties that may have left them feeling disconnected or disheartened about learning. Every child deserves someone who refuses to give up on them. Could that person be you? We're seeking proactive, learner-focused professionals who can design and deliver tailored learning experiences that ignite curiosity, build confidence, and restore hope for young people. The young people you would be supporting access full or part time education through bespoke, child-centred programmes designed to meet individual needs. This role focuses on delivering Functional Skills English and Maths, helping learners re-engage in education, achieve qualifications, and progress into further education, training or employment. These programmes are often suitable for those who would find attending a large sixth form or college wouldn't suit their needs, offering a variety of delivery styles and locations. You'll have the freedom to shape sessions in the way that best suits each individual learner. This is a chance to make a real, lasting impact. What the role involves

  • Offering 1:1, 2:1 or small group Functional Skills support (Entry Level to Level 2) in the learner's home, in an appropriate community setting or Dare2Dream Post 16 Hub
  • Planning, delivering and assessing Functional Skills English and Maths to meet diverse learner needs
  • Creating bespoke, engaging sessions tailored to each young person's needs, interests and learning gaps
  • Using trauma-informed, neurodiversity-aware approaches to support engagement and build confidence
  • Preparing learners for Functional Skills assessments, including revision and exam confidence
  • Tracking learner progress and aligning learning to EHCP outcomes and individual goals
  • Supporting learners' emotional development, wellbeing, and study skills alongside academic progress
  • Working term time only
  • Flexible working options between 9am - 1pm, 1pm - 5pm or all day 9am - 5pm
  • Supporting young people across Warwickshire - within a 30-minute radius of your home (travel expenses & business insurance reimbursed)
  • Who we're looking for
  • Professionals with at least one year's experience supporting children and young people with SEN and SEMH needs, including Autism, learning disabilities, or behaviour that challenges
  • Experience delivering Functional Skills English and/or Maths is essential for this role
  • Individuals from Early Years, Primary, Secondary, Post 16 or specialist SEND environments
  • Confident delivering 1:1 and small-group interventions and personalising learning effectively
  • Individuals with experience supporting young people in youth, community, sports or creative settings
  • Strong communication skills with a nurturing, resilient and learner-centred approach
  • QTS / teaching qualification (e.g. PGCE, QTLS, DET) required for Qualified roles
  • Unqualified Tutors with relevant experience are also encouraged to apply
